Well, I am seriously overdue for a blog update. We've been having much fun along with the normal craziness of life. The kids are out of school and loving their summer time. Me too. I'm going to have a hard time sending them back, but then again, by the end of the summer I may be as ready as they are :0)
Let's see, quick updates so I can remember what was going on at this time in 2010:
Cailah graduated from Kindergarten, loves to have us read with her and wishes it would happen much more frequently. She's getting the short end of the stick, no question about it. But this was my last week working evenings and hopefully that will help. I plan on many a cuddle and read session with her this summer. She loves her cousin Makayla and wishes she could be her full time. Makayla's mother, on the other hand, is greatful to have the opportunity to hold her daughter again.
Kinder Graduation. And yeah, I love the outfit too. This is one of those Mom was on her way out the door to take kids to daycare before she realized what Cailah chose to wear to school. But it is vitally important to wear pink, and particularly to a her graduation.
Braydon completed 2nd grade, just recieved his second and third progress towards rank beads, and is still loving working on scouts. (Phew, yeah, I've been just a tad worried about that. If you know his father's passion for scouting you understand my trepidation. But that was apparently needless worrying. He's loving it)
Abby completed 3rd grade and is growing up. Lately she is looking less little girl and more tween. Sad and fun all at the same time. She learned how to mow the lawn a few weeks ago and is the offical family lawn mower. She does a great job too, and for now happily. May that last a few more weeks. It makes me smile every Saturday.
Delayna is 2. She wants to do everything "by myself." And I mean everything: cut her fingernails, walk in parking lots, walk to Kristin's house, pour the ketchup. Of course anything that could be construed as cleaning is excluded from the list. She cracks me up for many reasons, but my favorite lately is the eclecctic song list she sings from at random times and places. Her selections include country, hip hop and Woodbadge selections. Is it inappropriate for your 2 year old to be singing about whiskey making people feel a little frisky? Or your 6, 8, & 9 year old for that matter.
Mike is preparing for his next trip to Woodbadge. I've lost track of how many this is. He loves it and comes home a better person so we are happy to have him go.
Me, same old same old. Trying to raise 4 great kids, keep the house from becoming hazardous to our health and working inbetween.
We had Great Grandma Thompson, Aunt Cindy, Grandma, Grandpa, Ryan, Trevor, Bethany & the star of the show baby Makayla here last weekend. Oh, and don't forget Max and Abigail (who are becoming friends. I know, a bit of a surprise isn't it?) Fun Fun Fun! Also visited the Boise Train Depot. Cool place to be. The kids are planning a repeat trip to view the fish in the ponds. And the photographic evidence that these things actually occured, here it comes.
