The Last of the Night

So instead of getting my tail whooped at Peasant (after getting destroyed playing Settlers) I decided to spend a little time blogging. It seriously had nothing to do with Ryan's whining about how he had the perfect Settlers set up and Mom creamed him. I just have not been blogging and since I don't keep a journal I need to do this. (I am going to start keeping a journal.)

Anyway, we are glad Mom and Dad are still in Hermiston because it makes for a cheap and child pleasing vacation. It's good for the parental figures too. The kids have slept outside on the trampoline every night. They ran through sprinklers and jumped on the trampoline with and without sprinklers. Velveteen Rabbit was the movie of the weekend, and the even got the Wii out for a few games. And of course no trip home would be complete with out swinging something around and trying to hit the ball with it, so we took everyone down to the tennis courts. Thanks to fun big people who didn't step on or nail any of the little people. Mike had to skip the golf, but hopefully the doctors can get him all fixed up and next year he'll be back at it.

Group Shots

Delayna appears to have another ear ache, so getting group pictures was a bit of a challenge, but we had to try.

Kiddos

We decided this was a good year to do the kids yearly portraits ourselves. We're not expert photographers, but I think we got some cute shots around Mom and Dad's house. Someday I'm going to take of photography class. The kids are more fun when we just shoot them doing what they like to do, but I don't take great photos. A trade off. Ah, well, someday. The good news is we came at the perfect time since the poppy's are out. Since we took a bazillion pictures trying to get a couple of good ones, I had a hard time choosing. Here's a couple of each one of our "entropy's little helpers."

TRAMPOLINE!!!

Due to a sloped back yard our kids are trampoline deficient. They are the only people in the universe that don't have a trampoline ;0) Good news is G & G Bell do. Life is good in Hermiston--WHEEEEE!

Except when you crash, because sometimes you will. And today it is Kristin who has too much pain to feel. We're afraid her days of trampoline backflips are done. If you look closely at the pictures you can see how it wasn't so much fun.

Fun Aunt Kristin

I've been sick for the last week, so fun Aunt Kristin to the rescue! You can check out the fun the kids have had with her at her blog. (See left side bar)

Conversations With Mike

Mike was talking with Abby and he asked her how Braydon was doing. She said, "he's always happy." Pretty much. That boy's got a lot to teach me.
Tonight we had Mike on speaker phone for our scripture study. Great idea except Delayna LOVES to talk to DaDa on the phone and scripture study quickly became the Delayna show. We did all get to read at least one verse and learn the importance of searching the scriptures. Had to get the camera out and Kristin captured the essence of D in a series of photos. Enjoy.

Misc. Stuff

OK, I've missed a bunch of stuff due to hectic life and too much spider solitare :0) So here are a few of the missed moments.
Easter Preparations: Randy chooses the "best" eggs for display. If they happen to be his well . . .

The whole egg dying gang. Minus Mike. He must have been scouting.

Talk to Mike. I have no idea what he was thinking.

Just cause it was cute. She loves to have her hair done lately. She'll bring me the brush, detangler and hair accessories, plop down right in front of me and wait to have me do her hair. Totally cracks me up.

Delayna learned to blow bubbles. Cool eh?

Home Depot Adventures

We finally figured out how to keep the kids in the shopping cart. They always want the big unwieldy fun carts and I usually tell them no because they are hard to manage and they won't stay in them for more that 5 minutes. Not the case this Saturday. (And not even because if the new system. They just actually stayed in.) Check it out on Kristin's blog.

Entry Way

In the ever fierce battle against the entry way after school tornado, Kristin and I are waging our next offensive. This is phase one. The old piece of furniture I salvaged from mom's garage is now refinished and ready for action. It's the new home for backpacks, shoes, gloves, hats and umbrellas. Next phase permanently attaching said backpacks to the body of anyone not capable of putting them in the box.

Not New But A Little More Scary

Missy Delayna is frequently seen on the tall bar stools. It's sometimes the only way she'll eat anything, and well, everyone else is doing it, so even though it is scary we let her sit o.k. stand on them. But tonight I look over and she has climbed up on them herself. These are tall kitchen stools. AHHHHHH! Good news is while I was typing this she got down by herself. Is this good news? I can't be sure. (Apologies for the comma errors in this post. Clearly I care or I wouldn't type this, but just not enough to go figure them out.)
