OK, I don't know how to spell do as in hairdo, whatever. I finally gave Delayna a hairstyle, much to her chagrin. But despite her efforts to thwart it going in she left it alone all day. This is her at dinner after a crazy day and two naps and it's still there. She growing up too fast.

OK, yeah, today was CRAZY
After the fun run we headed home to get ready for the three soccer games and the last event of the birthday that never ends, Abby friends party. The soccer games went well and as always were fun to watch. I wish my kids were as polite at home as they are on the soccer field. But that's another blog. Abby had a dinner party with flowers as the theme tonight. The girls all dressed up and were so cute. We enjoyed one of Abby's favorite dinners: gyoza and sticky rice (sandwiches and rolls for those with less adventuresome palates), and a special treat of Cranberry Sierra Mist, and cream puffs for dessert. We had flower topped pencils and artifical lilys for the centerpiece and then made the flowers into barettes for the girls after dinner. For our keep the kids busy craft we did mosaic paintings of flowers on t-shirts and then it was time to open presents, eat cupcakes and we finished with a minute to spare. Kristin and I decided we should be party planners for our second careers. :0) Totally kidding! Mike happily missed another crazy party hanging out in McCall with the Woodbadgers and is finally on his way home. We're done with Woodbadge, well until November when next year's begins. And now I am going to go crash because I've earned it today!
Fun Run
Today the kids and I participated in our first ever running event. The Nampa Rec Center hold an annual fun fun and we decided to do it. So Abby, Braydon, Cailah and I headed out for the 9:00 start time. Delayna got to stay home with Kristin and Alyssa. It was great fun. The school run was only a mile, and even so I expected to have some tired out kids. I really thought I'd be walking most of the way carrying Cailah on my back at least part of the time, but nope. They were champs. Cailah was amazing and just ran and ran. She only took breaks when the big kids did. It was a hit and all three are excited to do it again next year. They will probably only remember all the cool free stuff they got, but they were excited and exclaiming they must do it again long before they realized there was free gatorade, TCBY, bananas, loafs of bread and a cool shirt. We'll be back!Thursday, September 25, 2008
The Birthday that Never Ends
What can we tell you about Abby at eight? She is in second grade and learning so much. She loves to read and is currently into Cam Jansen and Abby Hayes chapter books. She's a black tornado whirling through the house and HATES cleaning her room. The good news is it is easy to find her. You just follow the trail of shoes, socks, jackets and backpacks until you find her :0) She likes to help in the kitchen and she enjoys handwashing dishes. She and Alyssa are planning on opening a restaurant when they are older. Music is another love and likes anything that involves it: singing, dancing, playing DDR, watching Dancing with the Stars, and playing instruments. She auditioned for a part in the Nutcracker and will be dancing as an angel in December. Auditioning was a little stressful, but she's very excited. (Anyone remember angels in the Nutcracker? I can't) She is not a big fan of sleeping and rare is the night that we don't have to go in and tell her to put her book or papers away and turn out the light. She is no longer the absolute tallest kid in school. She blends in a little better. Yeah for her.

A Great Day to be a BRONCO
When we moved here I thought that the "Bronco Nation" was a little over the top, but fun that they supported their school so well. Of course we've been swept up into it a bit and follow the Bronco's and enjoy their recent success. But alas, today our joy is Randy's sorrow. The Broncos took on the Ducks in Autsen stadium today and emerged victorious. You can imagine there will be much celebrating in the Boise Metro area tonight as every celebrates the door opened to a BCS bowl. Go Broncos !!!!
