10 Things You Should Know About Delayna

Delayna at 10 months. She's a kick. Here are 10 things you should know about "D."

What do we love most about her right now?
Her laugh and her "I'm so excited" panting. We also enjoy watching her chase balls around the house. Definately the most fun "new" toy.

Her greatest recent accomplishment?
Walking with support. She loves to walk around if you'll give her your fingers. She's even stood on her own for a few seconds.

Her mother's greatest relief?
She has slept through the night three nights in a row.

Oh, bummer thing?
What to choose, what to choose? It's a toss up. 1. She's very fast. It is a rare diaper change that she doesn't get away from us at least once. And you can have two legs and an arm in her pj's and she'll manage to get all three out BEFORE we get that last arm in. 2. She gets into everything. She's even gotten things out of the top rack of the dishwasher. She's tricky.

What is Daddy's favorite thing about Delayna?
He's very proud of her Beaver teeth. ( That will only make sense to those of you who realize how Woodbadgered we are around here :0)

What do we need to teach her this month?
How to go down stairs. She's very good at up. Every time she's made it to the stairs we've found her at least half way up. We also need to teach her to eat real food. Lately she's all about milk and what she can scrounge up on the floor. But give her some nice food in her high chair and forget it.

How do you make her happy?
Take her clothes off. She loves to be nearly naked. Well . . . she'd prefer naked, but we have to draw the line somewhere. A close second is to give her my phone with the music playing.

How is the Cailah-Delayna war front going?
Cailah still LOVES Delyana more than Delayna would prefer. She is generally tolerant of Cailah's "love," but she's learned a new tactic. She screams in Cailah's face. Perhaps that will get through to her.

Is Delayna still completely mommy attached?
Nope. She did great at Aspen Grove with lots of different people, and I have been "dissed" on several occasions lately. She has preferred Mike, Abby and Alyssa to me on occasion. Gunnar was witness to the first incident and thought I would be sad about it, but no way. She still loves me best :0), but I'm very happy seeing her learn to love and trust other people too.

What do we expect to see in the coming soon?
I imagine it won't be too long before she takes that first solo walk. She is experimenting with words and mimics all the time. She's gearing for a vocabulary explosion. I also imagine I'm going to have a lot of fun trying to keep her out of the water at Lake Mead. Wish me luck.

Fun post, good to get to know our little "D" better. Although she still can't stand Uncle Doug (screams at the sight of me).

Good luck "D" with the Cailah tactic.

How in the world does she get to the top shelf of the dishwasher?
